Using the Inventory Search
The Inventory Search feature in Subbu is designed to help you locate specific items in your inventory quickly and efficiently. However, to make the most of this functionality, it’s important to understand how the search system interprets your input. This guide provides an overview of how to perform effective searches using SKUs and the wildcard symbol (%
).
How to Use the Search Function in Subbu
Full SKU Search
The search function in Subbu requires you to enter the entire SKU to retrieve results. If you know the exact SKU, type it into the search bar and press "Search" to display the corresponding inventory item(s).
Example:
- Search Input:
GR001
- Result: Displays the inventory item(s) with the exact SKU
GR001
.
Partial SKU Search Using the Wildcard (%)
If you don’t know the full SKU or want to search for multiple items with similar SKU prefixes, you can use the %
symbol as a wildcard. This symbol tells the system to return all SKUs that start with the characters before the %
.
Examples:
- Search Input:
GR
- Result: No results. Partial SKUs without a wildcard will not work.
- Result: No results. Partial SKUs without a wildcard will not work.
- Search Input:
GR%
- Result: Displays all SKUs starting with
GR
, such as:GR001
GR002
GR003
Tips for Effective Searching
- Always use the full SKU if you are looking for a specific inventory item.
- Use the wildcard (%) to search for broader results when you only know the initial part of the SKU.
- The
%
can also be used at different positions within the SKU to perform advanced searches:GR%001
will find SKUs containing "GR" at the beginning and "001" later in the string.
